Biography

Born in Vancouver, BC, Canada, and raised in the film city, Noida, Delhi NCR, Aryan Tomar is a budding film director, screenwriter, producer, and an occasional actor, known for being an Indo-Canadian teen astropreneur and one of the youngest filmmakers. He is the son of Vikas Tomar, an immersive infotainment evangelist, an investor, and an experimental storyteller, and Nirupma Tomar, an entrepreneur in MICE and training. His first love for filmmaking began when he had earned a laptop at age ten, and even at that young age began to model his career on that of his idol, Quentin Tarantino, Martin Scorsese, and Alfred Hitchcock. He started writing a script and making film scores for one of his father's novels. Soon after, he got the opportunity to participate in a week-long global film festival where he won his first award at the age of ten and looking at his passion, he was immediately invited on the stage to review a Mexican film, Sunú (2015) in front of the media, film critics, and film analysts. His father is an alumnus of Vancouver Film School (VFS) and studied VFX and Animation, followed by Film Production, Aryan improved his professional film knowledge by researching from exclusive course content from his father's treasure of VFX, film & production tutorials which his father curated since VFS. His first documentary, VVe Being Donna: The Light, the Dark (2020), was based on his grandmother. Philosophy and i Déjà vu (2020), his first web series, he made the score and produced inspired by his visits to Europe and Korea. Apart from the success of the global film festival, Aryan's international recognition continued, since a Canadian filmmaker collaborated to make a documentary on him, The Higher Perspective (2020).
